Jandi and Jun Pyo

*sigh* I am not reporting very happy news at the moment: but then it depends on your point of view and optimism for this show. *Warning: Contains UNCONFIRMED spoilers for future episodes. Remember, nothing is final until it has been aired.

Regarding Jandi + Jun Pyo

– Pictures have been released from the filming of what is rumoured to be Episode 23 of Boys Over Flowers; there is a date scene between Jandi and Jun Pyo; however, what Jun Pyo does not know is that this is their ‘last date’, as Jandi is planning to join her parents in the fishing village for Madame Kang has made life difficult for Ji Hoo and Ga-Eul.

– The date goes well; Jun-Pyo is especially pleased – Jandi initiated the date, has not quarreled with him once. Jun Pyo expresses his wish for more  dates like this.

– Jun Pyo then asks Jandi if he likes him. He tells her he’s told her that he’s liked her several times, but has never heard it back. Jandi replies, “I like you. I like you so much that I’ve tried to stop and forget you, but no matter what I do, I can’t.” Then she proceeds to lean over and kiss Jun Pyo shyly.

Regarding Ga-Eul and Yi Jeong

There are many people rooting for this couple; no one wants the ambiguous open ending (Meteor Garden) or unfulfilling ending (Hana Yori Dango) that the previous versions gave; I’m with them. This couple has great chemistry and both have shown their characters to be deep and complicated. It would not make sense to give them anything less than a comparitively happy ending. Or more.

– Ga-Eul faces trouble from Madame Kang (in Meteor Garden, her character moved to Canada, and Yi Jeong’s character did show he cared enough about her to try to help her situation)

– The scene at Namsan Tower, despite how happy both characters are, is supposed to be (or lead up to) a sad scene.

Yi Jeong goes to find Ga-Eul at her porridge shop. He takes her out, and they visit the Namsam stairs. Later, Yi Jeong and her begin to talk about Jandi, but then Yi Jeong tries to start talking about “us”, to which Ga-Eul interjects and says that she understands his situation and will no longer chase him. She then bids him farewell (unclear if she is actually leaving the country)

Regarding the ending

It is highly likely the drama will end with a “Two Years Later” type of conclusion; even though this ending may be hopeful towards all couples, I can’t help but feel a twinge of disappointment at this ‘classic’ Korean drama/movie ending. Oh well, if it means happy SoEul, I will be pleased.

Remember:

Jun Pyo > Jae-kyung > Jandi

This trio is still not over with yet. Sometimes reading spoilers projects you so ahead of the drama that you forget what will be airing the coming week. They have yet to conclude the wedding (which I suspect will be concluded early in Episode 22 – bye bye Jae-kyung [finally])
